(CITY) RESIDENT ATTENDS LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

 

(City, date) – (Name) of (city), a member of (name) Lions Club, recently attended the 92nd Lions Clubs International Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. (Last name) was one of 15,000 Lions who participated in the meeting that drew representatives from 100 countries and geographic areas around the world.

Convention highlights included a spectacular Parade of Nations featuring 10,000 Lions from 100 countries, many in native dress, who marched along with floats and 25 marching bands. Attendees also heard a keynote address from former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, and saw the association honor Australian youth activist Father Chris Riley for his work helping homeless and troubled youth.


Convention delegates attended workshops, learned about important issues facing communities around the world, elected international officers, voted on constitutional amendments and helped set the future direction for Lions Clubs International. Attendees also enjoyed a performance by the legendary Beach Boys.
