J. Frank Moore III

J. Frank Moore, of Daleville, Alabama, USA, was elected to serve as president of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 84th International Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, July 2-6, 2001.

Past President Moore is an educator by profession and a former superintendent of education for the Daleville City Schools in Daleville, Alabama, USA.

A member of the Daleville Lions Club since 1975, Past President Moore has held many positions within the association, serving as vice chairperson and international coordinator of Campaign SightFirst II, the most successful fundraising initiative of Lions Clubs International Foundation and our association. He served as chairperson of the Lions Clubs International Foundation in 2002-03 and as an international director on the association’s board of directors in 1994-96.

Past President Moore was a member of the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum Planning Committee from 1996-98. He also served as a District Governors-elect school group leader in 1997 and 1998. He is past president of the Past District Governors of Alabama and past president of the Alabama Lions Sight Conservation Association, Inc.

Past President Moore has received numerous awards in recognition of his service to the association, including a 30-Member Key Award, 15 International President’s Awards, the Friends of Humanity Award presented by Lions Clubs International Foundation, and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to his Lion activities, Past President Moore is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is a member of the Army Aviation Museum Foundation executive committee.  He is a United Methodist Church Certified Lay Speaker, serves on the Church Conference Laity Board and is treasurer of his church. He is also a former chief executive officer of the Association of the United States Army.

Past President Moore and wife, Rita, also a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow, have two daughters and a son, who also are Lions, and six grandchildren.
