CARLOS A. VALENCIA
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Carlos A. Valencia, from Miranda, Venezuela, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 94th International Convention, held in Seattle, Washington, USA, July 4 to July 8, 2011.
Director Valencia is the general manager of a manufacturing company.
A member of the Barcelona Lions Club since 2010 and a Lion since 1980, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chair, region chair, district governor and multiple district council chair.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including the 100% Club President Award, several International President Certificates of Appreciation and five International President Medals. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Valencia is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is an honorary member of the Foundation of Friends of Children Suffering Cancer and a member of the Special Olympics Foundation of Venezuela. In the past, he was a member of the Boy Scouts Association of Venezuela and the Cultural Association of Zuliana. He is the recipient of the Order of Good Citizens from the Mayor of the City of Caracas, the José Antonio Anzoátegui Medal, the Leonidas Monastery of Miranda State Medal and the Rómulo Gallegos Medal. He has also received various other recognitions awarded by government authorities for his community service.
Director Valencia‘s wife, Lilia, is also a Lion and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
