Dr. Ichiro Takehisa
DR. ICHIRO TAKEHISA
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Ichiro Takehisa, from Tokushima, Japan, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 95th International Convention, held in Busan, Korean, June 22 through 26, 2012.
Director Takehisa is a medical doctor.
A member of the Tokushima Shiroyama Lions Club since 1977, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, district zone chairperson, region chairperson, district governor and council chairperson. He also served as an adviser for the 2011 Earthquake Support Committee.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including an International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, a Bronze Award for the Year-Round Growth Program and a Key Award for adding 10 new club members. Director Takehisa is a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Takehisha is active in numerous professional and community organizations, and serves as the Director of the Tokushima Guide Dog Support Association and the vice representative of the Japan Dementia Group Home Association. He was also the president of the Tokushima City Medical Association and the vice president of the Tokushima Prefecture Medical Association. Director Takehisa is also the recipient of a Japan Medical Association Award, Tokushima City Board of Education Award, Japan Ministry of Defense Award and Governor of Tokushima Prefecture Award.
Director Takehisa and his wife, Hiroko, have three sons and six grandchildren.
