INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

Donal W. Knipp, from Auxvasse, Missouri, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 95th International Convention, held in Busan, Korea June 22-26, 2012.

Director Knipp is a retired manager in the refractory industry and owner/manager of a retail grocery store.

A member of the Auxvasse Lions Club since 1968, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chair, region chair and district governor. He is a Certified Guiding Lion and has also served on the Missouri Lions Research Foundation and as chair of the MD 26 State & International Convention.

In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including five District Governor Certificates of Appreciation, four International President’s Certificates of Appreciation and the International President’s Leadership Medal. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to his Lions activities, Director Knipp is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including honorary board member of Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation, deacon and treasurer of the Grand Prairie Baptist Church and member of Gideons International. In the past, he has also served as Auxvasse mayor and councilman, president of the Auxvasse Community Center, and received the Auxvasse Jaycee’s Distinguished Service Award.

Director Knipp and his wife, Betty, also a Melvin Jones Fellow, have a son and a daughter.
