INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

Claudette Cornet, from Pau, France, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 94th International Convention, held in Seattle, Washington, USA, July 4 to July 8, 2011.

Director Cornet is assistant director of communications for L’Oreal Cosmetics.

A member of the Pau Anna de Noailles Lions Club since 1989, she has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chair, district governor, president of the Association of Past Governors of France, and LCIF district coordinator.

In recognition of her service to the association, she has received numerous awards including the 100% Club President Award, the Club President Excellence Award, District Committee Awards, the 100% District Governor Award, an International President’s Medal, three International President’s Certificates of Appreciation and the CSFII International Leadership Award. She is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to her Lions activities, Director Cornet is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including serving on the City Council. In the past she served as president of an investment club, treasurer of the International Association of Economic and Cultural Decompartmentalization and president of the Association of Nordic Skiing for 15 years.

Director Cornet’s husband, Jean-Claude, is a medical doctor.
