Ken Bird
Ken Bird, from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association's 91st International Convention, held in Bangkok, Thailand, June 23-27, 2008.
Director Bird is a company director.
A member of the Moreton Bay Lions Club and a Lion since 1972, Director Bird has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairperson, public relations chairperson, region chairperson and district governor.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Bird has received numerous awards, including a District Star Award, the James D. Richardson Award, the 100% District Governor Award and the International President's Leadership Medal. Director Bird is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Bird is active in numerous professional and community organizations.
Director Bird and his wife, Maureen, also a Lion, have three children and two grandchildren.
