CARLOS IBAÑEZ
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Carlos Ibañez, from Panama City, Panama, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 92nd International Convention, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, July 6-10, 2009.
Director Ibañez is a retired general manager.
A member of the Panama Lions Club since 1974, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chair, district cabinet secretary-treasurer, deputy governor, and special advisor to district governor for 20 years. He also served as a Director of the Multiple District Convention in Panama, Director of the International 20K program and General Director of Campaign SightFirst in Panama.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including a 100% Secretary Medal, 100% Club President Medal, 11 International President Certificates of Merit, an International President Medal and a Key Membership Plaque. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Ibañez is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is a current member of the Panama Chamber of Commerce, Agricultural American Chamber of Commerce, Camara Maritima De Panama and the U.S. Maritime Corporation.
Director Ibañez’s wife, Laura, is a Lion and a Melvin Jones Fellow.
