Benedict Ancar
BENEDICT ANCAR
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
Benedict Ancar, from Bucharest, Romania, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 95th International Convention, held in Busan, Korea, June 22 through 26, 2012.
Director Ancar is an assistant professor and the head of an obstetrics and gynecology department.
A member of the Bucharest Curtea Veche Lions Club since 1999 and a Lion since 1997, he has held many offices within the association, including charter president, zone chairperson and district governor. He also served as the president of the Europa Forum.
In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including a Melvin Jones Fellowship given to him Roma Accademica Lions Club and two International President’s Medals.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Ancar is active in numerous professional and community organizations, including the Romanian Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Director Ancar is married to Milena, and has two sons.
